Dwarf

Hailing from underground kingdoms, dwarves are as solid as stone and just as stubborn. They can see clearly in the dark places, they have an innate understanding of stonework, and they can shrug off most poisons and the strongest of brews.

Aspects

You may replace one of your class’s Other Aspects with one of these.

  • Cavern Master
  • Merchant and Miser
  • Never Forgive, Never Forget

Stunts

Choose one. At each milestone, you can choose another as your minor milestone benefit. Once you have three stunts, each new stunt lowers your Refresh by 1.

  • Darkvision: I get +2 to Cleverly overcome any obstacle related to darkness.
  • Resistance to Poison: I get +2 to Forcefully defend against toxins and intoxicants.
  • Stonecunning: I get +2 to Carefully overcome an obstacle that is concealed in stonework, such as a hidden door or trap.

Elf

The tall, long-lived elves hail from places of great natural beauty. Their keen senses and natural arcane gifts mean the elven forests are well protected from those who would despoil them.

  • Ancient Wisdom
  • Grace in Battle
  • Lover of Nature

Stunts

Choose one. At each milestone, you can choose another as your minor milestone benefit. Once you have three stunts, each new stunt lowers your Refresh by 1.

  • Keen Senses: I get +2 to Cleverly overcome obstacles to sight and hearing.
  • Magical Resistance: I get +2 to Forcefully defend against sleep or paralysis magic.
  • Magical Talent: I get +2 to Carefully overcome obstacles involving ancient spells, runes, or enchantment.

Human

Humans are the most widespread and versatile people, expanding to fill every niche. They spend what little time they have in the world practicing every art and craft.

Aspects

You may replace one of your class’s Other Aspects with one of these.

  • Common as Dirt
  • Jack of All Trades
  • Short Life, Big Dreams

Stunts

Choose one from your class. At the GM’s option, instead choose one from another class.

Halfling

The small folk come in two varieties: hospitable homebodies and clever wanderers. Unless your adventures all take place in a halfling village, you probably are the second kind. Regardless, all halflings possess a bravery that surprises those who would threaten them.

You may replace one of your class’s Other Aspects with one of these.

  • Good Neighbor
  • Nimble Fingers
  • Often Overlooked

Stunts

Choose one. At each milestone, you can choose another as your minor milestone benefit. Once you have three stunts, each new stunt lowers your Refresh by 1.

  • Halfling Courage: I get +2 to Forcefully defend against attempts to frighten or intimidate.
  • Halfling Stealth: I get +2 to Sneakily overcome obstacles involving being heard or seen.
  • Small Stature: I get +2 to Quickly defend against physical attacks from creatures bigger than me.
