Introducing Fragments

Icon of a push pin. Fragments

Today, I’m launching a new feature here on called Fragments. Fragments is a series of short works that provide material you can use directly in your games. Periodically, I will collect these Fragments into a PDF for sale on DriveThruRPG. At the end of the year, I plan to produce a Fragments annual that collects all of the year’s articles into a single product that will be available in both PDF and print-on-demand softcover.

To make it easier for me to work with and publish this material, Fragments will focus on systems that are available through open licensing — OGL, Creative Commons, etc. I currently have plans for 5e, Fate, and GUMSHOE, but there are other great systems that are currently open or easily licensed or may become so in the future. I am definitely looking into working with other rules.

By publishing these Fragments here on the site first, I’m making them available in a simpler format and for free. Fragments as they appear here will always be free. I’m hoping to be able to make the PDFs and books an appealing upgrade, though. If you enjoy Fragments in this form, consider pledging to my Patreon.

Fragments launches today with a new take on the dryad for Fifth Edition: the swamp dryad. Normally, though, new Fragments will release each Friday. Some weeks, I may even do more than one at a time. We’ll see how inspiration strikes me!
